Treasurer to Devon & Cornwall Police Authority (part-time post)
Salary: circa £75,000 - £85,000 per annum (pro-rata) plus benefits
Based at Exeter
Devon & Cornwall Police Authority is looking for a CCAB qualified accountant with a high level of personal drive and energy to act as the Chief Financial Officer to the Authority. Preferably you will have experience operating as CFO with section 151 responsibilities and you must have significant relevant experience to at least Assistant Director level or equivalent, preferably in the public sector.
You will have up to date knowledge of all aspects of financial management embracing legislative requirements, standards and practices.
You should have good inter-personal skills and understanding of sound public authority financial practice. It would be desirable if your experience includes working with either elected or appointed members and an ability to lead and effect major financial policy development.
This is a part-time position equating to two and a half to three days a week on average but at key times demand on your time will be higher so flexibility will be required.
