Three New Members
The Devon and Cornwall Police Authority comprises nineteen members, ten of whom are appointed by Devon and Cornwall County Councils, the Unitary Authorities for Plymouth and Torbay and the Council for the Isles of Scilly, and nine are Independent Members, who have responded to public advertisements seeking applications from people interested in serving on the Authority.
The Police Authority has recently undertaken a recruitment process with a view to appointing 3 independent members.
Following the process laid down in the Police Act 1996 and associated regulations the following people have been appointed as Independent Members of the Police Authority from 1 October 2008:
- Mrs Lynda Price JP (Honiton)
- Ms Linda Williams JP(Exeter)
- Mrs Jayne Zito (Truro)
